Underwriting Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Drive the underwriting strategy and make decisions for intricate risks

• Oversee and manage underwriting operations

• Assess portfolio performance and refine underwriting practices

• Provide guidance, direction, and supervision to underwriting teams

• Act as a point of escalation for complicated underwriting concerns

• Build and sustain robust relationships with brokers, agents, and market partners

• Coach, mentor, and develop the underwriting team

• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and data insights

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related discipline preferred

• Significant experience in underwriting, including commercial or specialty lines

• Proven track record in leadership roles managing underwriting teams

• Demonstrated success in achieving profitability and growth targets through underwriting strategies and portfolio management

• Relevant certifications such as CPCU or equivalent professional credentials preferred

• Necessary state-specific insurance licenses required according to role responsibilities
