Underwriting Externship Program – Intro to Insurance & Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Participate in a transformative 3-week virtual externship program aimed at familiarizing you with the basics of underwriting and risk analysis while offering development sessions to enhance your professional skill set.

• The Underwriting Externship Program is designed to provide externs with immersive, practical experience in underwriting to help them grasp the responsibilities of a full-time underwriter and the workings of Aetna’s underwriting organization.

• You will also have the chance to apply for and interview for a position in our 2028 Summer Corporate Underwriting Internship Program (UIP).

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program; Sophomore students are preferred (graduation date between 12/2028 – 5/2029).

• Must have access to a computer with a stable internet connection for virtual sessions.

• Availability for ALL Externship Dates (as listed above) is required.

• Strong analytical abilities and a keen attention to detail are essential.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed.

• A genuine curiosity about the insurance industry and a desire to learn about underwriting and risk analysis are important.
