This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
β’ Conduct substantive editing, language editing, and proofreading of reports and various documents translated from English into Ukrainian.
β’ Ensure that translated materials are precise, clear, coherent, consistent, and suitable for Ukrainian-speaking audiences while retaining the original meaning, tone, and intent.
β’ Edit and proofread reports, guidelines, presentations, and other publications.
β’ Enhance clarity, readability, flow, and structure of Ukrainian-language texts.
β’ Ensure correct Ukrainian spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, terminology, and usage.
β’ Maintain consistency in translation and terminology across documents and related publications.
β’ Verify the Ukrainian names of institutions, programs, legislation, geographic locations, organizations, and other proper nouns.
β’ Collaborate with translators and project staff to address linguistic, terminological, and substantive challenges.
β’ Native-level proficiency in Ukrainian, with a strong command of Ukrainian grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and professional writing conventions.
β’ Excellent written English skills to effectively compare Ukrainian translations with English-language source documents and identify translation errors or inconsistencies.
β’ Proven professional experience in editing and proofreading Ukrainian-language reports, research publications, policy documents, or other substantive materials.
β’ Experience in editing texts translated from English into Ukrainian, preferably within an international development, public policy, research, humanitarian, governance, or related context.
β’ Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain consistency across lengthy and complex documents.
β’ Experience with technical terminology and/or specialized subject matter is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with professional publishing and document formatting standards is desirable.
β’ Capacity to work independently, meet set deadlines, and integrate feedback efficiently.
β’ Must refrain from using artificial intelligence, large language models, machine translation tools, or other generative AI tools for role-related document processing without prior written authorization.
