This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts by connecting design and engineering.
• Integrate UX research and high-fidelity prototypes to create user experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and efficient.
• Develop clean, production-ready front-end code.
• Work in collaboration with Product Owners, UI Architects, Developers, and HCD Specialists to convert research insights into design specifications.
• Transform high-fidelity prototypes into responsive, accessible front-end applications and reusable React UI components.
• Ensure that designs adhere to Human-Centered Design principles, program goals, and Agile practices.
• Establish and uphold UI/UX and front-end coding standards.
• Assess designs for Section 508, usability, and WCAG accessibility compliance.
• Facilitate rapid prototyping, validation, and iterative feedback during sprint cycles.
• Offer suggestions on UI consistency, interaction design, and design-system reusability.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Compliance teams to ensure usability and accessibility in production releases.
• Create HCD implementation plans, accessibility and compliance reports, and shared design-system templates and components.
• Enhance task completion efficiency and user satisfaction while minimizing post-release UI-related defects.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in UI/UX design development.
• At least 5 years in a Human-Centered Design role supporting enterprise or government applications.
• Over 10 years of general information-systems experience.
• 8+ years of specialized experience.
• Strong grasp of Agile/SAFe delivery and iterative design integration.
• Proficient in usability testing, including heuristic evaluations, card sorting, and A/B testing.
• Skilled in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Storybook, Axure, Miro, or similar applications.
• Solid proficiency in React, including reusable functional components, state and props management, responsive interfaces, and production integration.
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, responsive design, and Sass or other CSS preprocessors.
• Experience in designing for federal systems and an understanding of Section 508 and WCAG compliance.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HCI, Design, or a related field.
• Background in federal digital modernization programs or court/case management systems.
• Familiarity with DesignOps and UX governance.
• Exposure to Google Analytics and Hotjar.
• Understanding of Zero Trust Design and secure user-interface principles.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted UX tools or predictive usability models.
• Exceptional presentation, storytelling, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with high-level customer stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Experience in identifying and applying industry tools, solutions, methods, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Experience may substitute for degree qualifications: high school with 16+ years, associate degree with 14+ years, bachelor’s degree with 12+ years, or doctorate with 9+ years.
• Certifications such as Certified Usability Analyst, Certified HCD Professional, SAFe Agile Practitioner, Section 508 Trusted Tester, or other UX/HCD certifications are preferred, highly desirable, or beneficial but not mandatory.
• No current security clearance required or needed to obtain.
• U.S. citizenship is not a requirement.
