This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +18 more states.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and activities centered around Human-Centered Design.
• Transform research insights into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Create intuitive, accessible, and responsive experiences for both web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, architects, and cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.
• Engage in Agile planning and ensure design solutions align with business objectives and user requirements.
• Present research findings and design recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advocate for user-centered design best practices while contributing to design standards, documentation, and reusable resources.
• Mentor team members and share methodologies, tools, and emerging trends in UX/UI.
• Ensure that designs comply with accessibility standards and maintain consistency through design systems and component libraries.
• Assist with visual design needs, including presentations, digital assets, and marketing materials.
• Proven experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and user-centered design activities.
• Strong grasp of Human-Centered Design (HCD) methodologies.
• Expertise in one or more areas: UX Design, UI Design, Interaction Design, or Service Design.
• Experience in creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Ability to convert user research into intuitive digital experiences.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile product development teams.
• Strong skills in collaboration, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
• Deep understanding of digital accessibility principles and WCAG standards.
• Experience in designing inclusive digital experiences.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as JAWS or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Microsoft Office Suite, and Mural.
• Experience utilizing AI-powered design tools and large language models (LLMs).
• Experience working with design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Familiarity with responsive, mobile-first, and accessible design best practices.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Successful completion of a Government background investigation and applicable security requirements.
• Must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MN, MS, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, or VA; relocation assistance is not provided.
