Turkish Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage on-demand video and audio interpretation sessions between speakers of Turkish and English.

• Accurately convey the essence of conversations in accordance with established interpretation protocols.

• Provide services to clients in sectors such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, business, law enforcement, courts, and emergency services.

• Engage in online training sessions for video and audio interpretation.

• Offer interpretation services through video and record data on a designated device.

• Communicate clearly in both languages, utilizing proper pronunciation, enunciation, and courteous expressions.

• Uphold a professional, neutral, and respectful demeanor throughout sessions.

• Maintain composure during sensitive or emergency calls, including those to 911.

• Ensure punctuality and availability during assigned work hours.

• Adhere to client guidelines and protocols while avoiding unauthorized interactions with limited-English-speaking individuals.

• Employ appropriate terminology and comprehend procedures across various industries.

• Exhibit cultural sensitivity within a diverse work environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Turkish and English, along with knowledge of cultural nuances.

• Capability to provide cultural competence and recognize regional and accent variations.

• Strong listening, retention, and note-taking abilities.

• Capacity to remain neutral, objective, and detached during sensitive discussions.

• Willingness to adapt to LanguageLine Solutions' technological advancements.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Legally permitted to work in the United States.

• Must not require current or future visa sponsorship for employment in the United States.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Proficiency in reading and writing the requested languages is highly preferred.

• Possession of a personal device designated for business use.

• Desktop or laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or a suitable tablet or smartphone.

• High-speed internet connection with a minimum of 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, a ping of no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms.

• Access to a quiet environment free from background noise and distractions.

• Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse, remaining stationary at a computer and webcam for the majority of the workday.

• Capability to use a headset for extended durations.

• Proficient in navigating company-provided software and systems.

• Adequate manual dexterity for typing or writing.

• Ability to lift up to 26 lbs.

• A post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screening may be required based on location.
