This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take on overall technical responsibility to aid the customer in identifying risks and issues within the plant.
• Suggest appropriate solutions to enhance plant performance and availability.
• Conduct plant walk-downs, which include a thorough visual inspection of the facility.
• Participate in a quarterly technical meeting with representatives from similarly designed Eskom Power Stations.
• Deliver detailed reports to relevant client representatives upon request.
• Be available for emergency consultations during unforeseen turbine failure incidents.
• Update the client on the latest engineering designs and advancements that could enhance plant design.
• Assist in creating technical specifications for the refurbishment of turbine components.
• Provide turbine-related training tailored to the needs of the client's turbine system engineers.
• Serve as a communication link to the OEM regarding technical matters.
• Revise, monitor, and update pertinent GE Vernova documentation.
• Compile technical specifications for plant operation and maintenance.
• Identify and optimize spare parts to be maintained for planned overhauls.
• Recommend the scope of work for all major planned outages.
• Advise on the necessary turbine history recording.
• Document all significant abnormal events and occurrences related to the turbine on a monthly basis.
• Provide guidance on required turbine history recording, such as running hours and start/stops.
• Bachelor of Technology (B Tech.), Bachelor of Engineering (B Eng.), or Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc.Eng.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in Engineering, Operation, Maintenance, and troubleshooting of Steam Turbines and related equipment and systems.
