This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +21 more states.
• Travel extensively, 100% to wind farms across North America on an 8/1 rotation.
• Execute blade Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) tasks for GE wind turbines to support blade repair activities.
• Supervise confined space operations related to internal blade repairs.
• Support the Blade repair team, which is chiefly responsible for completing work, both at heights and on the ground.
• May be required to interact with customers on-site.
• Assist in operating the basket, rigging and de-rigging the blade access platform, and perform tag-lining tasks.
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot issues related to the work scope.
• Help maintain an organized inventory of on-site supplies during repair operations.
• Undertake miscellaneous operational support tasks as directed by the team leader.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, adhere to site rules, and maintain attention to detail.
• Exhibit professional conduct both on and off-site; take care of company property and interests.
• Prioritize personal, team, and site safety.
• Be a collaborative team member in a diverse environment.
• Must be capable of thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, consistently applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Must possess a current GE LOTO Certificate (NAM Blade LOTO, NAM Tech Essentials, or RELC Tech Essentials) and provide proof of certification.
• Must be a GE Qualified Electrical Worker 1.
• Must have or be willing to undergo training in GWO Basic Safety Training, OSHA 10, NFPA 70-E, and Confined Space protocols.
• Ability to safely and effectively use powered hand tools.
• Preferred knowledge of composite blade repair specifications and techniques (not mandatory).
• Preferred ability to interpret complex technical drawings and processes.
• Proficient in IT (email, internet, iPad).
• Willingness and capacity to travel extensively, including air and ground transportation, often with short notice, and spend extended periods away from home at project sites.
• Ability to drive or travel for up to 11 hours per day when required.
• Must demonstrate flexibility regarding changes in scope and schedule.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and accept guidance.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory MVR report, and must be 21 years of age or older to operate a company vehicle.
• Must meet the demanding physical requirements of climbing ladders multiple times per day up to 300 feet/90 meters, as well as bending, crawling, stooping, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to wear a respirator and work safely with protective equipment.
• Adequate vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) to conduct detailed inspections, read instructions, and safely operate equipment.
• Eligibility for this opportunity is limited to US/Canadian citizens or individuals legally authorized to work in either country.
• Optional certifications that are considered advantageous include: GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) – fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid; GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) – electrical, hydraulic, mechanical; IRATA or SPRAT rope access experience and certification is a plus; certificates must be current, and candidates must be physically capable of performing rope access work safely. OSHA 10 General Industry and GE NAM Blade LOTO certificate are also beneficial.
