Traveling Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and install intricate, tailored packaging and processing equipment at client locations.

• Efficiently repair equipment to meet customer specifications in a timely manner.

• Provide training for clients on the safe operation of equipment, including maintenance and parts ordering.

• Share contact information for the service team to address future service and parts requirements.

• Ensure customers are well-versed in the operational and safety protocols of their equipment.

• Document all repairs conducted during service calls and submit related travel expenses.

• Guarantee that reports are thorough, precise, and submitted within 24 hours following job completion.

• Accurately complete weekly expense reports and timesheets in a timely fashion.

• Manage all expenses in a cost-effective manner.

• Adapt to a flexible schedule that meets the needs of both internal and external customers.

• Be prepared for overnight travel as necessary and work outside of standard business hours, including weekends.

• Traveling Field Service Technicians must interpret technical drawings.

• Knowledge of electromechanical systems is essential.

• Possess advanced problem-solving skills to maintain, service, and repair large, high-powered packaging and processing machinery.

• Significant mechanical aptitude is required.

• Ability to troubleshoot large-scale, complex machinery in mechanical, electrical, and operational aspects.

• Strong background in electrical and mechanical systems.

• Skills in pneumatics and machine shop practices are necessary.

• Capability to work independently is important.

• Exceptional customer service skills are a must.

• Ability to thrive in high-stress environments.

• Capacity to respond and adapt to changing or novel situations.
