This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Oversee the technical aspects of the Mevion Medical Systems Proton Therapy System.
• Acquire knowledge and expertise in operating the Mevion Medical Systems Proton Therapy System (PTS) to meet diverse customer requirements and related tasks.
• Regularly engage with customers' professional and technical teams to address all operational challenges involving Mevion products at client locations.
• Travel approximately 75% of the year to locations within their designated region and/or other sites as required by business demands.
• Operate the Proton Therapy System, including troubleshooting and conducting post-service testing.
• Deliver prominent customer support through on-site operations, as well as corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Effectively communicate the status of the system to both the customer and Mevion team members.
• Work on intricate clinical systems associated with the Proton Therapy System, such as motion control systems, CT scanners, X-ray and radiological technology devices, and robotic manipulators.
• Ensure that PT devices are functioning in accordance with specifications.
• Monitor daily treatments and system performance, identifying necessary corrections or enhancements.
• Document and report all complaints and key performance indicators related to the PT device.
• Ensure that systems are compliant, operational, and meet customer satisfaction.
• Maintain equipment and systems following the established maintenance schedule.
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field is preferred, or 4-6+ years of relevant technical experience in the Military or equivalent (such as Electronics technicians, mechanics, etc.).
• Experience with radiation therapy equipment is advantageous.
• Proficiency in electronic/electrical and mechanical skills.
• Experience with computer interfaces, instrumentation, and control systems is essential.
• Preferred familiarity with proton systems.
• Strong enthusiasm for new technologies and a desire for continuous learning of new systems.
• Competent in computer usage and debugging techniques.
• Knowledge of networking principles and techniques.
• Solid understanding of imaging systems.
• Familiarity with SalesForce or similar CRM software and productivity tools is desired.
• Experience with troubleshooting and data analysis methods is required.
• Medical Physics experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with dosimetry hardware and software.
• Experience with cooling systems, cryogenics, vacuum systems, PLCs, regulation loops, drivers, sensors, electric motors, high voltage, and low voltage equipment is a plus.
• Experience in the repair, maintenance, and operation of large mechanical systems is an added advantage.
