Transportation Outbound Strategy Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee enterprise outbound transportation strategies throughout the CVS Health distribution network.

• Enhance service levels, on-time delivery, transportation expenses, network capacity, driver utilization, and trailer utilization.

• Collaborate with Transportation, Distribution Center Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management, and Store Operations.

• Identify and execute strategic initiatives that enhance network performance and align with enterprise goals.

• Act as a subject matter expert in transportation optimization, routing strategies, transportation technologies, and operational design.

• Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving long-term network efficiency.

• Utilize Trimble Appian and AI tools to create scalable workflows, enhance visibility, and ensure consistent execution.

• Build and nurture relationships, processes, and partnerships without direct management of personnel.

• Oversee multiple projects and influence leaders, managers, as well as internal and external stakeholders.

• Serve as a pivotal liaison within the business and Supply Chain.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in transportation systems or related systems and processes.

• 5+ years of extensive knowledge in transportation and supply chain management.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Capability to frame and pursue shared objectives.

• Proficiency in managing multiple objectives simultaneously.

• Ability to think independently and operate effectively with high-level stakeholders.

• Innovative and creative mindset to foster ongoing process improvements.

• Experience with Trimble “Appian”, Omnitracs, Manhattan, Descartes, Blue Yonder, or equivalent routing technologies.

• Understanding of trailer cube optimization, load planning, network optimization, and transportation analytics.

• Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience is preferred.

• High School diploma required.

• Role necessitates the establishment and development of relationships, processes, and partnerships.

• Capability to manage multiple projects, adhere to tight deadlines, and meet production demands.
