This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the execution of the RGL Rancher Network Strategy across various regions.
• Engage, mobilize, and enhance rancher networks to promote better grazing management and site-specific conservation efforts.
• Assist business units in fostering relationships with rancher-led coalitions, conservation partners, and supply chain organizations.
• Manage TNC’s participation in the multi-state federal DoD REPI Warren grant along with other grant-funded projects.
• Apply improved management practices and ensure adherence to program results and grant stipulations.
• Create innovative tools, strategies, and policies to promote the adoption of regenerative management practices.
• Identify approaches to surpass entry barriers for new and under-represented producers.
• Coordinate resources and strategies across significant grazing landscapes while integrating rancher and partner insights.
• Build and manage external partnerships, including with DoD, World Wildlife Fund, Ducks Unlimited, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, and more.
• Seek partnership opportunities with Indigenous producers.
• Maintain performance metrics, manage costs, and oversee project budgets.
• Secure public and private funding to meet program requirements and support allied organizations.
• Lead small cross-functional teams and occasionally supervise staff, interns, or volunteers.
• Collaborate with staff and partners nationwide or regionally, including occasional travel and after-hours/weekend commitments.
• BA/BS degree along with 7 years of experience in conservation practices or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in grazing land and grassland restoration and conservation management.
• Familiarity with current trends and practices in ranch management, conservation, and grazing disciplines, including regional differences.
• Experience overseeing complex or multiple projects and budgets, including financial management and coordination with other professionals and partners.
• Background in developing, submitting, and managing public and private grants.
• Knowledge of applying scientific concepts and technical innovations for conservation in grazing land environments.
• Experience in forming partnerships with non-profit organizations, industry stakeholders, community groups, and government entities.
• Proven track record in negotiating complex partnership agreements.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong understanding of cultural differences and norms, with the capacity to operate across various cultures.
• Demonstrated experience in influencing, developing, and executing conservation practices, policies, and plans through agricultural industry networks.
• Valid driver's license and adherence to TNC’s Auto Safety Program.
