This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee a collaborative team addressing electric transmission challenges.
• Act as Supervisor and Engineering Lead for high-voltage overhead and underground electric transmission-line design projects.
• Implement NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other relevant standards for projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 765 kV.
• Conduct engineering analyses autonomously while providing assistance to the team.
• Create bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement documents, and construction documents.
• Work in conjunction with project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
• Build an engineering team with direct-report responsibilities.
• Manage client relations, proposal development, scope creation, and project management.
• Utilize AI, automation, and digital design platforms to enhance grid modernization and design efficiency.
• Communicate expectations, goals, and vision clearly.
• Oversee direct-report performance management.
• Inspire, coach, mentor, and assign project tasks effectively.
• Facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts.
• Promote diversity and inclusion within the team.
• Monitor project performance metrics, identifying risks and opportunities for value enhancement.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or preferably Mechanical Engineering, with over 12 years of relevant experience in high-voltage electric utility transmission-system design.
• Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or an equivalent credential.
• Proficient in PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, and/or FAD.
• Experienced with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work effectively both in a team setting and independently.
• Preferred five or more (5+) years of supervisory experience.
• An M.S. degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Proven track record of excellent communication skills to act as the primary contact for existing and prospective clients is preferred.
• Business acumen with a history of understanding and achieving key project performance metrics is preferred.
• Occasional travel may be necessary.
