This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Offer technical guidance and evaluate client transmission line designs.
• Manage project scope, timeline, budget, and quality assurance.
• Carry out daily project activities to ensure successful delivery.
• Review and compile specification packages.
• Assess and prepare structural and fabrication drawings.
• Design, analyze, and review transmission lines utilizing PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Evaluate and design foundations.
• Examine existing and proposed structures for compliance with client and required codes, standards, and specifications.
• Conduct electrical clearance checks and calculations.
• Apply engineering principles to Power Delivery Projects.
• Employ effective engineering methodologies and offer technical advice.
• Serve as a resource for engineers and designers.
• Directly oversee project management.
• Create and review comprehensive project documents for compliance and quality assurance.
• Stay updated on changes to standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Analyze complex engineering projects to identify design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints.
• Delegate tasks to both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Organize and coordinate intricate aspects of engineering tasks.
• Develop scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Assist in preparing proposals for professional services or project funding.
• Mentor junior staff and other engineers.
• Lead project meetings and represent the organization in engineering discussions.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License with reciprocity in multiple states.
• Valid Driver's License.
• In-depth knowledge of electric utility transmission line engineering and design.
• Experience in transmission line design.
• Proficiency with the PLS suite (PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE) is required.
• Preferred experience with PLS-TOWER and FAD Tools.
• Extensive understanding of transmission line design concepts and principles.
• Proven track record in managing external customer relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to supervise and mentor junior staff members.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, training, or business purposes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a professional office environment and sit for extended periods while performing computer-related tasks.
