Senior Zscaler Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Engage in cloud security initiatives, encompassing web filtering policy enforcement, CASB, firewall management, browser isolation, sandboxing, and data loss prevention.

• Evaluate and pinpoint security gaps, design controls to address security threats, and oversee infrastructure controls.

• Oversee and enhance Zscaler modules, including ZIA, ZDX, and ZPA.

• Develop, enhance, and sustain Zscaler cloud infrastructure.

• Transition policies from legacy proxy systems to cloud-based platforms and manage firewall configurations within ZIA.

• Maintain, implement, monitor, support, and troubleshoot networks, applications, and endpoint security in relation to Zscaler.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate network and security challenges associated with Zscaler services.

• Perform regular security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and corporate policies.

• Collaborate with Management, Solution Architects, Principal Security Engineers, internal teams, and clients.

• Integrate Zscaler services with current infrastructure.

• Stay updated on Zscaler products and services, recommending upgrades and enhancements as necessary.

• Provide training and support to IT teams and end-users.

• Create configuration, troubleshooting, and operational documentation.

• Participate in emergency response teams and contribute to post-mortem analyses.

• Act as the primary responder for AFC customer systems, managing client configuration issues until resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, at least 6 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• 4-7 years of experience in managed Security Services or Information Security, including administration, configuration, and management, as well as Enterprise Security administration, is essential.

• 2-4+ years of experience in managing, administering, and deploying Zscaler.

• 2-4+ years of experience in networking/network security (firewall, DLP, CASB, proxy, etc.).

• Strong foundation in network security principles, including Zero Trust architecture.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

• Ability to analyze device and traffic logs; extensive understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack.

• Capacity to work independently in a remote environment while sustaining communication and collaborative team dynamics.

• Proficient in developing and managing security policies and protocols.

• Preferred industry certifications include Security+, CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, CEH, and others.
