OSP Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Develop, design, document, and obtain permits for proposed new outside plant FTTx expansions.

• Generate high-quality deliverables for buried, underground, and aerial fiber applications.

• Interpret and comprehend maps, drawings, and diagrams relevant to Telecom/FFTx OSP construction.

• Create and evaluate fiber assignments (schematics), as well as high-level and low-level designs.

• Liaise with project managers, the permitting team, and field personnel to produce precise deliverables that meet deadlines, client expectations, and JSI standards.

• Continuously enhance job-related tasks and processes, along with technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.

• Carry out additional tasks as directed by the manager/supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering, or a related discipline, is mandatory; the degree must fulfill educational criteria for EIT and/or PE certification according to the licensing board of the state of employment.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in telecom engineering and design is essential.

• Proficient knowledge of GIS, including tools like ArcGIS/QGIS/Google Earth, etc.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software is required.

• Capability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams for Telecom/FFTx OSP construction.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong time management abilities and a keen attention to detail.
