This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.
• Serve as the design authority for an engineering discipline characterized by medium complexity.
• Execute tasks on various projects of moderate scale or segments of major projects efficiently and in compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and cybersecurity policies.
• Lead and facilitate the commissioning of data centers, paralleling switchgear (PSG), and power automation systems.
• Provide support to Field Service Engineers during project commissioning phases.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems, relays, and other control systems.
• Conduct and assist with site acceptance tests (SAT), factory witness tests (FWT), and factory acceptance test (FAT) support for customers.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers in high-pressure environments.
• A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 7–10+ years of experience in field service engineering, emphasizing data center power systems, paralleling switchgear, and automation/PLC systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of power distribution systems, protection & control, and critical power applications.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting PLC/HMI systems, relays, and control systems.
• Awareness of UL standards (UL1558, UL508A) and power system testing methodologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Capability to lead and mentor junior engineers in high-stress situations.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (both domestically and internationally).
• Experience with SCADA integration in data centers and power systems.
• Familiarity with IEC 61850, Modbus, and DNP3 communication protocols.
• Practical knowledge of generator controls and protection relays.
• Background in customer-facing roles with strong presentation and negotiation skills.
