Transmission Line Designer – IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Conduct designs for transmission lines utilizing PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE for wood, steel, and concrete structures.

• Create project drawings and documentation, which includes plans and profiles, bills of materials, assembly details, and foundation specifications.

• Interpret and apply RRC, client, and industry standards to effectively carry out projects and tasks independently.

• Assess designs and establish criteria using sound judgment, with support and guidance from senior engineers.

• Ensure that designs adhere to project specifications, design requirements, and the company’s quality standards.

• Aid in the development, enhancement, and application of internal design procedures and standards.

• Provide mentorship and training to designers/technicians, sharing your technical knowledge.

• Engage in occasional project site visits.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate’s or technical school degree, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in the field of transmission line engineering design.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.

• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE for wood, steel, and concrete structures.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with design codes, standards, and guidelines such as NESC, RUS, and ASCE 7.

• Understanding of the material procurement process and construction work packages.

• Authorization for full-time work in the United States is required.

• Capability to lead a team of designers/technicians while collaborating closely with engineering staff.

• Experience in foundation design using FAD Tools and/or LPile is preferred.

• Preferred experience with transmission line voltages of 345 kV and above.

• Preferred experience in designing underground medium- to extra-high-voltage lines.
