Transmission Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Network Implementation: Spearhead the deployment of the Arelion Optical Transport Network, ensuring timely delivery as per agreed schedules.

• Installation & Commissioning: Supervise the installation, commissioning, testing, and activation of optical transmission equipment.

• DWDM Migrations: Conduct DWDM link migrations in collaboration with on-site technicians, including activities outside of standard working hours when necessary.

• EoL Platform Migration: Implement migrations of services from platforms nearing their end-of-life (EoL).

• Collaboration: Partner with internal teams on initiatives for network expansion, optimization, and the decommissioning of outdated equipment.

• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors to facilitate the successful delivery, installation, and commissioning of DWDM systems.

• Logistics: Manage logistics for equipment shipments between warehouses and deployment locations.

• Documentation: Ensure high-quality and accurate documentation across all pertinent systems and tools.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Join regular deployment and progress meetings with vendors and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven Experience: Over 5 years of experience in a telecommunications company covering Plan, Build, and Operate functions.

• DWDM Expertise: Demonstrated experience as a DWDM Network Engineer within a telecommunications setting.

• OLS – Long Haul: Extensive experience in configuration and troubleshooting with Infinera 7300, Infinera FlexILS, Nokia GX, Ciena 6500, and Ciena 6500 RLS.

• OLS – Metro: Hands-on experience with Infinera Groove G30, Nokia GX, and Ciena ELS.

• Transponder Platforms: Familiarity with Ciena WL5e and WL6e (C-band and L-band), along with Nokia CHM6 and CHM7 series (C-band and L-band variants).

• Remote Support: Experience in supporting remote installations of transponders and shelves alongside on-site technicians; ability to guide on-site technicians remotely during installations and troubleshooting.

• Fibre Infrastructure: Solid understanding of fibre infrastructure, including cable routing and ODF connectivity in data centre environments.

• Service Turn-Up: Proven ability to commission and activate DWDM services.

• Spectrum Migration: Experience in assisting with spectrum migration efforts.

• Documentation Skills: Strong documentation abilities, including maintaining network inventory systems.

• Communication: Capability to effectively communicate project status and progress to internal stakeholders.

• Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date awareness of current transmission technologies and industry best practices.
