Translator – Learning Designer, Localization Project, Japanese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Review and enhance AI-pretranslated content within Smartcat to ensure accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, and natural Japanese expression.

• Consistently apply approved terminology across skills, decisions, products, and specialized terminology.

• Maintain a conversational, evidence-based, and commercially sharp tone.

• Naturally adapt buyer-as-hero and “you” language for Japanese audiences.

• Rebuild finalized translations within existing PowerPoint presentations and Articulate Rise modules.

• Test and fix animations, transitions, triggers, timing, and build sequences.

• Address layout issues arising from localized text, such as overflow, line breaks, and cut-off content.

• Conduct light image and screenshot text modifications in PowerPoint.

• Deliver assets in a fully presentation-ready format.

• Collaborate with the internal team and other contractors, working independently toward milestones and participating in 1–2 weekly check-ins.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level Japanese proficiency with outstanding professional/B2B writing capabilities.

• Strong English reading skills and effective collaboration abilities.

• Demonstrated experience in business, sales enablement, corporate learning, or professional localization.

• Proficient in working with terminology glossaries and style guides.

• Strong skills in PowerPoint, including familiarity with the Animation Pane and animation repair.

• Experience with Articulate Rise or similar authoring tools.

• Keen attention to layout, typography, and visual presentation.

• Reliable availability during Eastern Time (GMT-4) / Central European business hours.

• Preferred: localization QA experience with animated/interactive presentations and B2B sales enablement experience.

• Comfortable and capable of working remotely in a contract role.
