Translator – Learning Designer, Localization Project (Japanese)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and enhance AI-pretranslated content in Smartcat for precision, fluency, grammar, tone, and a natural Japanese expression.

• Consistently apply approved terminology across skills, decisions, products, and specialized terms.

• Maintain a conversational, evidence-based, and commercially astute voice.

• Naturally adapt buyer-as-hero and “you” language for Japanese audiences.

• Reconstruct finalized translations within existing PowerPoint presentations and Articulate Rise modules.

• Test and rectify animations, transitions, triggers, timing, and build sequences.

• Address localized layout challenges, including overflow, line breaks, and cut-off content.

• Execute light image and screenshot text modifications in PowerPoint.

• Provide assets in a fully presentation-ready format.

• Collaborate with the internal team and other contractors effectively.

• Work autonomously towards milestones and engage in 1–2 weekly check-ins.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese with outstanding professional/B2B writing abilities.

• Strong English comprehension and teamwork skills.

• Demonstrated experience in business, sales enablement, corporate learning, or professional localization.

• Comfortable utilizing terminology glossaries and style guides.

• Proficient in PowerPoint, including the Animation Pane and animation troubleshooting.

• Experience with Articulate Rise or comparable authoring platforms.

• Keen attention to layout, typography, and visual presentation.

• Reliable availability during Eastern Time (GMT-4) / Central European business hours.

• Experience in localization QA for animated/interactive presentations is a plus.

• Background in B2B sales enablement is a plus.
