Training Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct assessments to determine training needs and identify gaps in knowledge, skills, and performance.

• Work in partnership with CDC leadership, program staff, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to establish training requirements.

• Create and design instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-directed training programs.

• Develop comprehensive training curricula, course outlines, lesson plans, facilitator guides, participant manuals, job aids, and various instructional materials.

• Convert complex technical, scientific, policy, or programmatic details into accessible training materials.

• Utilize adult learning theories and instructional design strategies in the development of training.

• Create presentations, exercises, case studies, simulations, assessments, and other engaging learning activities.

• Lead and conduct training sessions, workshops, orientations, briefings, and additional educational events.

• Manage training logistics including scheduling, communication, registration, materials, technology, and participant assistance.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with program goals.

• Develop and administer knowledge checks, assessments, surveys, and various tools to evaluate training effectiveness.

• Analyze data on training participation, completion, satisfaction, and performance to identify areas for enhancement.

• Assess training results and suggest modifications to improve learning outcomes.

• Keep training curricula and materials updated to ensure content remains accurate and relevant.

• Assist in the development and execution of training plans and learning strategies.

• Create training schedules, implementation plans, status reports, and other program documentation.

• Support activities related to the learning management system, including course creation, enrollment, completion tracking, and reporting.

• Coordinate with internal and external training providers and vendors as necessary.

• Prepare executive-level briefings and reports concerning training activities and results.

• Ensure training products adhere to relevant CDC policies, accessibility standards, and organizational guidelines.

• Manage multiple training initiatives concurrently while adhering to established deadlines.

• Perform other related tasks in support of CDC workforce development and training objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, organizational development, human resources, communications, public health, business administration, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in training support, instructional design, curriculum development, workforce development, or professional education.

• Proven experience in conducting training needs assessments and creating effective learning solutions.

• Familiarity with developing instructional materials, presentations, facilitator guides, participant resources, or online learning content.

• Experience in delivering or facilitating training sessions for adult learners.

• Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design practices.

• Experience in evaluating training effectiveness and analyzing participant feedback or performance metrics.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

• Capacity to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and varied stakeholder groups.

• Ability to handle multiple training projects and meet deadlines efficiently.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

• This position is contingent upon contract award.
