Trainer for CAD and Artificial Intelligence in Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Instructing on practical, job-relevant knowledge of CAD systems, generative design, and the professional application of AI in engineering.

• Guiding mechanical engineering professionals through their transition to modern digital product development.

• Assisting participants in enhancing their efficiency on design tasks with AI support.

• Providing instruction on the appropriate utilization of generative AI tools.

• Teaching participants how to critically and professionally assess technical results generated by AI.

• Optimizing contemporary CAD and engineering workflows.

• Educating on the responsible and economically sound integration of AI into daily professional practices.

• Supporting the digital engineering process from design tasks through AI-assisted analysis, generative variant development, technical evaluation, and optimization, leading to documentation and integration into professional practices.

• Clearly explaining complex technical subjects and addressing participant inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or technical training in mechanical engineering, product development, design engineering, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in design, product development, or CAD engineering.

• Excellent proficiency in at least one professional CAD system, such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion.

• Hands-on experience with parametric design and modern CAD workflows.

• Strong knowledge of current AI applications within the engineering and CAD landscape.

• Proven experience in the productive use of generative AI solutions, including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar systems.

• Familiarity with AI-supported functionalities in modern CAD systems, such as generative design or automated optimization.

• Ability to professionally evaluate and critically analyze AI-generated outcomes.

• A confident understanding of the opportunities, limitations, risks, and quality standards associated with generative AI.

• Experience in teaching technical content to adults or similar training experience.

• Ideally, experience with generative design and topology optimization.

• Knowledge of current advancements in AI for engineering.

• Experience in analyzing and refining design processes.

• Familiarity with parametric modeling and automated variant generation.

• Experience in prompt engineering for technical inquiries.

• Competence in integrating AI into existing engineering workflows.

• Experience in assessing the technical feasibility, manufacturability, and functionality of AI-generated solutions.

• Knowledge of data protection, copyright, and responsible AI use in a corporate environment.

• Experience in coaching, project work, or hands-on knowledge transfer.

• Familiarity with Autodesk Fusion Generative Design or equivalent solutions.

• Knowledge of Autodesk AI, SolidWorks AI, CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE AI, or similar platforms.

• Experience with BIM-supported AI applications.

• Familiarity with visual scripting solutions such as Dynamo or Grasshopper.

• Experience with automation tools like Python, Power Automate, or n8n.

• Knowledge of concepts in digital product development, such as Digital Twin, PLM, or simulation.

• Experience with AI-supported documentation and knowledge management.

• Familiarity with modern cloud CAD systems.

• AEVO qualification or a comparable pedagogical qualification.
