Trainer for CAD and Artificial Intelligence in Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Providing hands-on, industry-relevant instruction on CAD systems, Generative Design, and the professional application of AI in engineering.

• Assisting engineering professionals from the mechanical engineering field as they shift to contemporary digital product development.

• Aiding participants in completing design assignments more effectively with the help of AI.

• Instructing on the competent and suitable use of generative AI tools.

• Mentoring participants in the critical assessment of technical solutions and AI-generated outcomes.

• Enhancing modern CAD and engineering workflows.

• Educating on the responsible and cost-effective integration of AI into daily professional practice.

• Supporting the digital engineering workflow from the initial design task through AI-assisted analysis, generative variant development, technical evaluation and optimization, documentation, and practical execution.

• Empowering participants to thoughtfully and successfully embrace and utilize new technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in mechanical engineering, product development, design engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in design engineering, product development, or CAD engineering.

• Proficient knowledge of at least one commercial CAD system, such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion.

• Practical experience with parametric design and contemporary CAD workflows.

• Strong understanding of current AI applications in engineering and CAD.

• Proven experience utilizing generative AI solutions effectively, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar systems.

• Familiarity with AI-enhanced features in modern CAD systems, including Generative Design or automated optimization.

• Capability to evaluate AI-generated results from a solid technical standpoint and challenge them critically.

• Comprehensive understanding of the opportunities, limitations, risks, and quality standards related to generative AI.

• Experience in teaching technical subjects to adults or equivalent training experience.

• Ideally, familiarity with Generative Design and topology optimization.

• Awareness of current advancements in AI for engineering.

• Experience in analyzing and optimizing design processes.

• Knowledge of parametric modeling and automated variant generation.

• Experience with Prompt Engineering in technical applications.

• Proficiency in integrating AI into existing engineering workflows.

• Experience in evaluating the technical viability, manufacturability, and functionality of AI-generated solutions.

• Understanding of data protection, copyright, and responsible AI usage in a corporate setting.

• Experience in coaching, project-based work, or practice-oriented knowledge transfer.

• Familiarity with Autodesk Fusion Generative Design or similar solutions.

• Knowledge of Autodesk AI, SolidWorks AI, CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE AI, or comparable platforms.

• Experience with BIM-based AI applications.

• Understanding of Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other visual scripting tools.

• Experience with automation tools such as Python, Power Automate, or n8n.

• Knowledge of digital product development, including Digital Twin, PLM, or simulation.

• Experience with AI-assisted documentation and knowledge management.

• Familiarity with modern cloud CAD systems.

• AEVO certification or a similar pedagogical qualification.
