Trade Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Manage the entire trade lifecycle on a daily basis: overseeing order execution, reconciliation, and report generation.

• Take responsibility for daily reconciliations across various venues, custodians, and wallets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Monitor execution in real-time to identify and rectify issues such as poor fills, routing errors, stale quotes, and slippage promptly.

• Develop and sustain the operational tools and workflows essential for seamless trading activities.

• Maintain the incident runbook. As the first responder to issues like trading errors or venue outages, you will lead the resolution efforts.

• Record incidents, identify root causes, and collaborate with the engineering team to prevent recurrence.

• Ensure desk resilience through effective monitoring, alerting, and established escalation procedures.

• Continuously enhance operational processes to minimize errors, decrease manual tasks, and alleviate operational bottlenecks for traders.

• Generate clear operational reports and KPI tracking for the Head of Trading.

• Facilitate coordination with exchanges, custodians, and other external operational partners.

• Daily monitoring of risk exposures and trading limits, with immediate reporting of any breaches.

• Operate the controls and reporting mechanisms that the desk depends on, while supporting the broader risk and compliance framework overseen by senior management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in trading operations, trade support, middle/back office, or a similar operational role in digital assets or traditional finance. A background in proprietary trading, hedge funds, or exchanges is highly beneficial.

• Hands-on approach. You are capable of building and troubleshooting independently and thrive in a lean, non-hierarchical environment without direct reports.

• Exceptional attention to detail, especially under time constraints. Reconciliation discrepancies and execution issues do not escape your notice.

• Technical proficiency: comfortable using Excel and SQL, with the ability to read or write basic scripts to automate operational tasks.

• Composed and efficient when handling incidents. You maintain clarity and focus when production issues arise.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities. You can effectively manage processes and keep relevant stakeholders informed.

• A strong interest in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and DeFi is a significant advantage.
