This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ecuador.
• Serve as the primary guide, interpreter, manager, and organizer for the group on a daily basis.
• Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by your travellers directly.
• Strive to adhere closely to the established itinerary.
• Make and confirm reservations for accommodations, transportation, and activities as needed.
• Maintain daily expenditure records, retain receipts, and ensure expenses remain within the trip budget.
• Prepare a trip report in the required format upon request.
• Keep trip notes current using a standardized format.
• Train newly selected Chief Experience Officers (CEOs), sharing all pertinent information.
• Provide support to the regional office when needed.
• Consistently deliver exceptional customer service and ensure traveller satisfaction.
• Offer leadership to our travellers and take responsibility for their well-being.
• Continuously enhance your knowledge of the region's culture, religion, current events, and environment.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of hotels, attractions, restaurants, transportation, souvenirs, and pricing.
• Cultivate information sources and contacts that can provide assistance when necessary.
• Be alert to potential opportunities for G Adventures, including new destinations, new CEOs, emerging markets, or improvements to itineraries.
• Familiarize yourself with Planeterra, G Adventures’ non-profit foundation, and its relationship with G Adventures.
• A passion for adventure travel.
• A valid residency ID to live in the Galapagos Islands.
• A Naturalist Guide license issued by the Galapagos National Park.
• A marine license issued by the Maritime Authority of Ecuador.
• A valid certificate of competence in O.M.I issued by the Maritime Authority of Ecuador.
• A valid certificate of competence in crowd control, group driving, and passenger safety issued by the Maritime Authority of Ecuador.
• A valid certificate of competence in crisis management and human behavior.
• A valid certificate of competence in ship protection training for assigned tasks.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and budgeting.
• In-depth understanding of the history, geography, and culture of Galapagos and Ecuador.
• Ability to work and live aboard or in a modality involving island hopping.
• Physical capability to manage treks, luggage, and various active adventures.
• Previous experience living, travelling, studying, or working abroad is preferred.
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.
• Proven communication and leadership abilities.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Good computer skills, including Internet, E-mail, Word, Excel, and social media.
• Access to support through various Team Resource Groups.
