Reconciliation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of fund financial data across the general ledger, banking activities, capital accounts, and internal systems.

• Conduct daily reconciliations of client fund activities involving the general ledger, bank accounts, capital accounts, and internal systems.

• Manage reconciliation schedules, documentation, and maintain audit trails.

• Collaborate with Fund Accountants to resolve reconciliation issues.

• Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes from a controls standpoint.

• Monitor recurring reconciliation issues and highlight potential systemic or data-quality risks.

• Ensure any discrepancies are identified and reported on the same day they occur, thereby maintaining trust in both customer-facing and internal data.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5+ years of experience in accounting or roles focused on reconciliation.

• Strong attention to detail and comfort in working with financial data from multiple sources.

• Ability to systematically investigate discrepancies and clearly communicate findings.

• Experience in supporting closing or audit-related processes.

• Comfortable working independently within a defined scope.

• Experience with venture capital or private equity funds (Nice to Have).

• Familiarity with fund accounting or administration systems (Nice to Have).

• Prior experience in audit preparation or internal controls (Nice to Have).
