Title Examiner – Mortgage Foreclosure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Evaluate title commitments, reports, and public records

• Construct accurate chains of title

• Recognize liens, judgments, easements, and priority issues

• Collaborate with lenders, title companies, and external entities to resolve title challenges

• Acquire lien releases, satisfactions, and corrective documents

• Navigate county recording systems and digital databases

• Interpret deeds, mortgages, tax documents, and encumbrances

• Work in partnership with attorneys and paralegals

• Provide clear title summaries and maintain organized files

• Prepare FHA/VA title packages when required

• Ensure accurate, compliant case management files in accordance with firm and legal standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Two to five years of experience in title examination, title curative work, or real estate law

• Strong understanding of title concepts, lien priority, and common defects

• Proven ability to analyze title commitments and public records

• Investigative experience navigating county recording databases

• Exceptional accuracy, organizational skills, and time management abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software

• Preferred: experience in a law firm, title agency, or mortgage servicing environment

• Preferred: bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Legal Studies, or a related field

• Knowledge of the mortgage foreclosure process and FHA/VA title requirements

• Hands-on experience in bridging chain-of-title gaps and resolving liens
