Title Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conducts title examinations and assesses the chain of title for a diverse array of title orders, primarily focusing on residential properties.

• Abstracts and evaluates records, including mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to ascertain ownership, legal restrictions, and to confirm the legal description of the property along with the completeness of records.

• Addresses and resolves various issues such as absent information, and any incomplete, inaccurate, or conflicting details found within the title documentation.

• Generates initial title commitment documents in accordance with procedural guidelines.

• Prepares and inspects reports to ensure accuracy.

• May offer underwriting interpretations adhering to established guidelines.

• Operates independently and leverages experience to analyze titles to real estate, which may vary in complexity, to determine status and establish the chain of title.

• Additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in title examination.

• Experience with title examination specific to Maryland.

• Possession of state license(s) when necessary.

• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.

• Proficient analytical review skills.

• Competent research and investigative skills.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Customer service-oriented mindset.

• Standard proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with company operating systems.

• Understanding of legal terminology is advantageous.
