Tigrigna Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Promptly respond to video and audio interpreting sessions while conducting interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.

• Engage in online, video, and audio training sessions.

• Provide interpretation services through video and efficiently type data on a designated device.

• Accurately convey concepts and meanings adhering to established interpretation protocols.

• Exhibit a professional demeanor throughout all video and audio interpreting sessions.

• Maintain composure during video and audio interpreting sessions, particularly if one of the primary speakers is unclear or distressed.

• Adhere to client instructions in accordance with protocol to ensure that the expectations of the Limited English-speaking Person (LEP) are fulfilled.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Tigrigna and English, along with an understanding of the related cultural dynamics.

• Capability to provide cultural competency and evaluate regional and accent variations to facilitate communication with the LEP.

• Strong listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to ensure a high level of accuracy during interpretation.

• Ability to focus, remain detached from the conversation, and maintain neutrality and objectivity at all times.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Legally permitted to work in the United States.

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Preferred education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation.

• Must be adaptable to any LLS technology advancements that enhance service delivery and meet client needs.
