Threat Strategy Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and monitor support interactions, acting as an internal advocate for strategic clients.

• Address customer escalations and escalate issues proactively when necessary.

• Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss support interactions, system status, key challenges, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies using Proofpoint products and services.

• Cultivate an in-depth understanding of customer business and operational requirements.

• Maintain a solid technical knowledge of Proofpoint integrations within client environments, covering network, security, systems administration, and messaging management.

• Formulate and implement strategies to address complex customer needs utilizing Proofpoint solutions.

• Offer proactive recommendations to safeguard customer information assets through the Proofpoint product suite.

• Identify and prioritize both short-term and long-term objectives.

• Plan and spearhead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction.

• Plan, document, and assess risks and challenges associated with production changes across multiple services or technologies.

• Track customer satisfaction levels and escalate any concerns as required.

• Organize personal time effectively to complete multiple tasks within changing constraints.

• Design and implement solutions for complex issues with minimal supervision.

• Provide technical guidance to customer teams and address inquiries regarding product features and functionalities.

• Lead proactive, hypothesis-driven threat hunting efforts focusing on email-borne threats, including phishing, business email compromise, credential harvesting, malware delivery, and misuse of trusted services.

• Analyze messaging telemetry, email headers, URLs, attachments, and user interaction data to identify evasive or novel attack patterns.

• Correlate customer email data with Proofpoint threat intelligence to reveal emerging attacker infrastructure, techniques, and social engineering trends.

• Investigate suspicious or ambiguous email activities to ascertain attacker intent, scope of impact, and organizational risk.

• Convert threat hunting findings into actionable recommendations, detection enhancements, and preventive controls utilizing Proofpoint solutions.

• Collaborate with threat research, detection engineering, and product teams to enhance platform-wide protections.

• Present customer-facing briefings on email threat hunting outcomes, trends, and lessons learned to both technical and executive audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in client/professional services, sales engineering, senior support engineering, IT operations management, or a senior engineering role with exposure to various technology domains.

• Experience managing security or consultancy is essential.

• Familiarity with data communication concepts and technologies, particularly in email and networking.

• Proficient in Windows, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.

• Proven ability to motivate and inspire colleagues, ensuring they work efficiently and effectively.

• Capacity to work effectively in both team settings and independently.

• Must be proactive with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Relevant experience with Proofpoint products and a strong understanding of threat protection.

• Comprehensive understanding of and current knowledge regarding the evolving threat landscape.

• Background in security, particularly concerning threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.
