Threat Analyst 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver monitoring, detection, and response services to proactively safeguard customer environments.

• Analyze logs and security-related events utilizing Sophos tools.

• Detect and respond to cyber threats within customer environments.

• Communicate and document findings for both technical and executive audiences among customers.

• Engage with customers throughout the issue resolution process and provide suggestions to mitigate risk.

• Acknowledge and fulfill incoming customer requests via various communication channels.

• Collaborate with core security and threat response teams.

• Investigate emerging indicators of compromise/attack, exploits, and vulnerabilities, and operationalize the findings.

• Willingness to work beyond standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, for a 24x7x365 MDR service.

• Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Customer service-focused approach.

• Capability to work both in a team and independently.

• Enthusiasm for information technology and cybersecurity.

• Curiosity and a swift learning ability for new skills.

• Innovative mindset.

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a SOC environment or computer security team in an IT setting.

• Experience in threat hunting.

• Background in endpoint and network security monitoring.

• Proficiency in administering and supporting Windows OS workstations and servers, along with Apple or Linux-based operating systems.

• Understanding of common adversary tactics and techniques, such as obfuscation, persistence, and defense evasion.

• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

• Knowledge of incident response protocols.

• Basic comprehension of network traffic analysis, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and protocols.

• Basic understanding of Windows event log analysis.

• Legal authorization to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship.
