
Territory Sales Representative – Dairy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Implement the sales strategy and achieve set targets for the designated territory by expanding relationships with existing customers, cultivating potential clients, and establishing a strategic partnership for business expansion.
• Identify potential clients for animal nutrition and health products, which may include feed companies, premix manufacturers, distribution or other channel partners, independent nutritionists, veterinarians, and larger livestock producers.
• Leverage value-added selling techniques and marketing support initiatives to guide prospects through the sales process towards successful closure.
• Capable of providing, clarifying, and guiding customers and prospects to comprehend the value proposition of Balchem products.
• This entails engaging in and contributing to strategic and tactical discussions aimed at business growth with customers.
• Proficient in organizing and delivering technical product information to key decision-makers and larger producers.
• Track product performance and customer satisfaction, providing necessary feedback to Balchem as required.
• Stay informed on the dairy industry, including potential customers, competitive offerings, market trends impacting sales, and other business prospects.
• Create sales forecasts to facilitate efficient production planning and raw material procurement.
• Supply competitive intelligence.
• Support the launch and representation of products at trade shows, seminars, conferences, and other industry events.
• Complete administrative tasks accurately and promptly, such as expense reporting, call documentation, and database management.
• Adhere to all safety policies and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards.
• Perform additional related functions necessary to ensure business growth.
• Degree in an agriculture-related field (preferably dairy or animal science).
• At least 3 years of successful sales experience with a proven track record of customer growth and value awareness.
• Experience in sales or support across a diverse customer and channel partner network.
• Strong business acumen with demonstrated abilities in action plan formulation, goal setting, and strategic account development.
• Self-motivated individual with a proven strong work ethic.
• Genuine interest in animal agriculture and a passion for selling in the dairy sector.
• Ability to influence the decision-making process across various customer targets, including nutrition professionals, dairy producers, feed milling, distribution, and channel partners.
• Capable of conveying scientific information and key messages about Balchem products to key dairy influencers within the geographic area.
• Experience in understanding the consultative selling cycle is essential.
• Proficiency in effectively communicating technical information, both written and orally, is crucial.
