This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• The Account Executive communicates concepts, methodologies, and value propositions to senior officials in the public sector to achieve and surpass sales targets.
• This role requires experience in selling enterprise software products, particularly within the regional market, emphasizing business development, attending conferences, and overall product knowledge.
• Candidates must be experts in PSD Citywide products, services, and processes to effectively manage client relationships throughout a lengthy business-to-business sales cycle.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with subject matter experts from the PSD team, which includes research personnel, seasoned municipal practitioners, engineers, and programmers.
• Driving the complete sales cycle within our customer base to meet or exceed sales objectives.
• Managing and expanding your territory while maximizing revenue and establishing future sales pipelines.
• Providing recommendations based on customer challenges, educating clients on industry trends and best practices while considering their financial and strategic situations.
• Negotiating PSD proposals, contracts, and charters that align with current business operations.
• Conducting virtual and onsite presentations for senior municipal government officials regarding enterprise asset management and budgeting services.
• Closing new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
• Continuously enhancing knowledge of PSD products and services as well as emerging market needs and competitive activities.
• Attending municipal conferences to establish new client relationships and maintain an active presence in the field.
• Utilizing Salesforce to manage sales opportunities, action items, and campaigns.
• Traveling and building onsite client relationships within your territory. Travel across North America is required for this role.
• Experience with the public sector, particularly local governments and utilities, is highly desirable.
• A Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in relevant fields (Business, Finance, Marketing, etc.) is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in managing and closing complex sales cycles, preferably in a SaaS software or technology setting.
• 3-5 years of successful business development experience in US-based sales.
• Strong listening skills with the ability to extract insights and develop opportunities from meetings with Senior Managers of cross-functional teams.
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and dedicated to providing exceptional customer satisfaction.
• A goal-oriented individual with a proven track record of achieving strong business results.
• Well-organized and analytical, capable of creatively and swiftly identifying and overcoming sales obstacles.
• Experience in managing and coordinating all facets of the sales process, from proposal writing to senior-level presentations and effective closing.
• Proficient in using the sales CRM tool (Salesforce) to manage the sales pipeline.
• Exceptional customer-facing skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
• Previous experience with municipalities or local governments is considered an asset.
• Ability to quickly learn and effectively communicate the value of new PSD methodologies, products, and services.
• Must be able to travel internationally and possess a valid passport and driver's license.
