This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Prospect and acquire new small to medium business customers within a designated territory.
• Onboard and ramp up newly secured accounts to grow the customer base.
• Engage prospects remotely through phone, video, in-person meetings, and digital tools.
• Schedule the necessary number of weekly appointments with relevant decision-makers.
• Identify the incremental and programmatic needs of prospects.
• Articulate Staples' value propositions, capabilities, products, assortments, and categories.
• Address objections and successfully close sales.
• Utilize designated selling tools, such as Priority List, Tenfold, and SFDC, to prioritize tasks, enhance efficiency, and document customer interactions.
• Collaborate with customer support, setup teams, and category specialists to advance deals to closure.
• Implement and ramp up new wins while ensuring compliance with new accounts and programs.
• Assist in product selection and standardization based on the purchasing processes of industry prospects.
• Cultivate long-lasting accounts that consistently purchase from Staples.
• Incorporate prospect feedback into the sales strategy.
• Develop new customer assortments and pricing structures.
• Maintain close communication and collaboration with Category Specialists and Support teams.
• Engage professionally with prospects on a daily basis, both in person and virtually.
• 1–3 years of proven sales experience or demonstrated success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate.
• Over 3 years of proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong ambition and desire to achieve success.
• Established track record in business development.
• Ability to create and deliver both virtual and in-person presentations.
• Expertise in consultative, solutions-based, and insight selling techniques.
• Advanced negotiation and client management skills.
• Capability to collaborate with product category sales team members.
• Solid understanding of business, finance, operations, and technology.
• Ability to analyze business and industry trends to develop tailored solutions for prospects.
• Capacity to work independently with minimal daily oversight.
• Drive and motivation to identify, develop, and finalize sales.
• Demonstrated work ethic and self-discipline.
• Ability to thrive in a competitive, goal-driven environment.
• Openness to coaching and ability to integrate feedback.
• Professional appearance and demeanor are essential.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Familiarity with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool is preferred.
• Relevant industry knowledge is a plus.
