This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• We are looking for a Territory Sales Manager with insurance expertise who will focus on enhancing agency relationships to boost the profitability of GEICO and its affiliated products in a specified area.
• SUPERVISES the formulation and implementation of strategies aimed at fostering agency relationships.
• Identifies, interviews, and approves new agency appointments to broaden GEICO’s distribution network.
• Manages agents within a specific area of responsibility through in-person, virtual, phone, and email interactions to cultivate relationships, provide training, and oversee agency performance.
• Enforces the policies and procedures of the agency program.
• Translates national strategic initiatives into local goals and objectives; SECURES commitment and ensures agents are accountable for execution.
• Evaluates agent performance against set goals, procedures, and guidelines.
• Advises agents and, with leadership backing, takes disciplinary measures against agents when necessary, up to and including termination.
• Communicates effectively; helps agencies to formulate local marketing plans and strategies aimed at achieving growth targets.
• Utilizes data analysis to devise pre-call strategies that focus on the most promising opportunities within the designated area and/or specific agency.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on GEICO and its affiliated products, features, and tools.
• Conducts research to maintain a thorough understanding of competitor offerings to encourage agents to promote our products.
• Assesses agency performance and holds agents accountable for their agreed-upon action plans.
• Provides training to agency staff on GEICO and affiliated products, services, and value propositions.
• Collaborates with leadership and the product team to design effective growth plans for agencies.
• Prepares departmental business plans, staffing forecasts, and budgets.
• Orders supplies and materials necessary for the smooth operation of the department.
• Periodically reviews plans and budgets to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Complies with the GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies, and operational principles.
• Meets attendance standards at the business location to perform essential job functions and facilitate interaction with subordinates and management.
• Must be capable of performing essential functions with or without accommodation, including but not limited to seeing, hearing, typing, and speaking.
• Must communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally over the phone.
• Must be available for in-person and virtual meetings.
• Must be adept at following complex instructions, resolving conflicts, or facilitating conflict resolution, and possess strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be able to learn and apply extensive technical and procedural information.
• Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of sales or relevant insurance experience (claims preferred).
• Previous experience in driving sales results is required.
• Experience with various lines of insurance is a plus (P&C, Commercial, Life/Health).
• Must comply with GEICO’s driving standards and/or policies.
• A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
