This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +9 more states.
• Develop and secure approval for the specification of HPS products with end users and engineering firms.
• Oversee the designated territory to ensure the effective, efficient, and economical achievement of sales goals.
• Engage in sales calls with targeted customers, distributors, consultants, and end users.
• Provide training to distributor personnel on selling and promoting Hubbell products.
• Manage relationships with distributors, including collaborative sales and marketing promotions, inventory assessments, and feedback on quotes.
• Serve distributors, contractors, and end users by generating demand for products.
• Conduct sales training, both internal and external, within the territory as directed by Management.
• Deliver formal sales presentations to various groups, including distributors and end users.
• Communicate with different types of end users using various methods, such as letters, phone calls, small group meetings, one-on-one meetings, trade shows, and business-oriented social events.
• Support distributors and end users while creating demand for the company’s product offerings.
• Build strong rapport and relationships with end users, contractors, distributors, and specifying influences.
• Assist customers with requests for literature, catalogs, technical specifications, drawings, and cross-reference information.
• Act as a liaison between customers and the manufacturing plant to resolve product issues effectively.
• Generate a monthly report concerning the assigned territory.
• Coordinate invitations, registrations, and marketing fund deductions for trade shows.
• Qualify sales leads and facilitate routing for further action.
• Exhibit leadership qualities through a strong work ethic and selling skills, gaining the respect of both customers and colleagues.
• Attain comprehensive product and company policy knowledge, being able to communicate this information to distributors and customers.
• Showcase excellent time management abilities and maintain precise account records.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales and territory management, particularly in the gas utility industry, is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
• Proficient in developing sales plans, project tracking, and market development.
• Proven success in creating and implementing sales initiatives.
• Possess a strategic vision paired with a practical approach to achieving goals.
• Highly motivated to meet financial objectives.
• Organized and disciplined in work habits.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a diverse range of customers; adept at relationship building.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
• Experience with Salesforce (CRM) is preferred.
