This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.
• New Business Prospecting: You will be actively engaging in new business development by visiting local cattle auctions, connecting with local Livestock, Cattlemans, and Stockmans associations, and building your business pipeline through proactive lead generation efforts. You will also respond to inbound leads promptly, managing administrative tasks alongside your field activities.
• Field Sales Engagement: You are not afraid to get your hands and boots dirty. Discussing Halter is best done over a cup of coffee at a kitchen table, while riding in a horse saddle, or on a side-by-side in the pasture. You will be out on the ranch assisting potential customers before illustrating the benefits of Halter. Delivering coffee during calving season is part of your approach. You cherish the special moments that significantly impact our customers.
• Expanding Current Opportunities: You are always on the lookout for new possibilities, including broadening your existing customer base with Halter. You recognize the importance of nurturing relationships and discovering innovative ways to enhance value over time. Since not every rancher will collar all of their cows, you perceive this as a unique chance to achieve your goals.
• Achieving Sales Targets: High-growth sales targets do not intimidate you; instead, you relish the challenge and aim high. As an expert pipeline manager, you do not hesitate to disqualify leads that do not meet criteria. You effectively manage current deals while keeping an eye on future opportunities.
• Customer Account Management: For you, building relationships extends beyond making a sale. Post-sale, you strive to maintain strong connections with your customers to ensure their ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and tackle any challenges related to Halter's products. Additionally, you will facilitate a seamless transition from sales to customer onboarding and implementation, helping customers derive maximum value from Halter's solutions.
• Territory Ownership: You take great pride in your work and demonstrate a high level of ownership. Managing an entire territory means giving attention to every detail and leaving no stone unturned. You value being the representative of your territory, engaging with key stakeholders from various local, state, and federal agencies to foster lasting relationships with regional agricultural groups.
• Customer Onboarding: Your commitment to ownership does not end after the sale. You ensure your customers have the best onboarding experience possible. You take charge of the complete customer experience during the onboarding and deployment of Halter's product, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation, even when handing off the customer to different teams within Halter.
• Gathering Field Learnings & Feedback: You understand the critical nature of feedback for the companies you choose to work with, and it is an integral part of how you manage your territory. As the primary point of contact for collecting customer feedback in your area, you work diligently to advocate for your customers' needs.
• Collaborating with Support Teams: You are a natural collaborator, actively seeking partners across Halter to quickly resolve any issues your customers face. You escalate problems as necessary to ensure that customers in your territory receive comprehensive support.
• Participation in Industry Events: You capitalize on opportunities at relevant industry and Halter events to generate leads and strengthen relationships with existing customers. You will engage in demonstrations and networking to enhance Halter's market presence.
• Contributing to US Sales Strategy: You firmly believe that teamwork enhances overall strength. You aim to collaborate with the broader team to refine and evolve the sales process to suit the US market. Your insights will help drive greater efficiencies as we scale.
• Driven Attitude & Communication Skills: You are results-oriented, motivated, and adaptable, thriving in high-pressure environments. You are well-prepared and adept at communicating with both customers and internal teams. Proactivity is your hallmark, and you do not wait to take action.
• Ranching / Cattle Knowledge: You possess a strong understanding of ranching or cattle operations, familiar with the industry's unique challenges. This experience enables you to connect meaningfully with customers regarding their priorities.
• Sales & Customer Success Experience: Your background includes a robust history of generating new business opportunities, engaging in value-based sales conversations, and cultivating lasting customer relationships. You prioritize nurturing relationships over transactional sales, aiming for long-term success stories and expanding existing relationships through upsell opportunities.
• Territory Management Experience: You have experience overseeing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, preferably within agriculture or technology.
• Problem-Solving & Collaboration Skills: You are resourceful and quick-thinking, working effectively with cross-functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions.
• Willingness to Travel: Regular travel within your territory is required to engage with customers and prospects.
