• Cultivate customer relationships within a collaborative sales framework.
• Oversee deliveries in accordance with the routing schedule provided by the transportation department; address any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process (e.g., delivery discrepancies, insufficient loads, stock shortages).
• Communicate and collect accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department and clients; ensure all outstanding balances are collected based on approved credit terms.
• Utilize additional resources to enhance penetration strategies and facilitate the opening of new accounts.
• Generate new business by identifying potential customers through market intelligence databases, business directories, existing client referrals, participation in organizations and clubs, and attendance at trade shows and conferences.
• Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' offerings, prices, and sales; relay this information to customers as part of the value-added services provided.
• Drive a motor vehicle to visit current customers and prospects to guarantee product delivery, which may involve lifting or carrying items weighing up to 75lbs.
• A minimum of 1 year of sales experience is preferred.
• Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills along with effective presentation abilities.
• Capability to establish relationships both internally and externally, as well as cold call to generate new business.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal capabilities.
• A competitive spirit and results-oriented mindset.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• A collaborative approach to working with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products; experience with customer relationship management tools (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
