This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• New Business Prospecting: You will be engaging with local cattle auctions, visiting ranches, and connecting with local Livestock, Cattlemans, and Stockmans associations to build your business pipeline through proactive lead generation. You will also respond to inbound leads promptly while managing administrative tasks alongside your field activities.
• In-Field Sales: You are not afraid to get your hands and boots dirty. Discussing Halter is best done over coffee at the kitchen table, while riding in the saddle, or on a side-by-side in the pasture. You will be assisting potential customers on their ranches before discussing the advantages of Halter, even bringing coffee during calving season. You appreciate those magical moments that truly impact our customers.
• Expanding Existing Opportunities: You are continuously on the lookout for new opportunities, including expanding relationships with your current customers through Halter. You recognize the value in nurturing these relationships and discovering new ways to enhance their value over time. Not every rancher will collar all of their cows, presenting a unique chance for you to achieve your goals.
• Achieving Sales Targets: High-growth sales targets motivate you rather than intimidate you; you embrace challenges and aim high. You excel in pipeline management and confidently assess leads. You can handle current deals while keeping an eye on future opportunities.
• Customer Account Management: For you, building relationships goes beyond just making a sale. Post-sale, you strive to maintain strong connections with your customers, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction, providing support, and addressing any challenges they face with Halter’s products. You will also facilitate a seamless transition from sales to customer onboarding and the implementation of Halter, helping customers derive maximum value from our solutions.
• Territory Ownership: You possess a strong sense of ownership and take pride in what you create. Managing an entire territory means paying attention to every detail and leaving no stone unturned. You value being the representative of your territory, engaging with key stakeholders from various local, state, and federal agencies to foster lasting relationships with regional agricultural groups.
• Customer Onboarding: Your commitment to ownership continues post-sale. You ensure that your customers receive the best onboarding experience possible. You actively manage the entire customer experience during the onboarding and deployment of Halter’s product, guaranteeing a smooth transition from sales to implementation, even when handing off customers to different teams across Halter.
• Gathering Field Learnings & Feedback: You believe feedback is crucial not only for the companies you wish to work with but also in how you manage your territory. As the primary contact for collecting customer feedback in your area, you tirelessly advocate for your customers' needs.
• Collaborating with Support Teams: You are a natural collaborator, actively seeking partnerships across Halter to resolve any issues faced by your customers promptly. You escalate problems as necessary and ensure that customers in your territory receive comprehensive support.
• Participating in Industry Events: You leverage relevant industry and Halter events to generate leads and strengthen relationships with existing customers. You will engage in demonstrations and networking to enhance Halter’s presence in the market.
• Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: You firmly believe in the power of teamwork. You strive to collaborate with the broader team to refine and adapt the sales process to fit the US market. As we grow, your insights will contribute to greater efficiencies.
• Driven Attitude & Communication Skills: You are results-oriented, motivated, and adaptable, thriving in high-pressure situations. You communicate effectively with both customers and internal teams, taking proactive steps without delay.
• Ranching / Cattle Experience: You are well-versed in ranching or cattle operations, understanding the unique challenges of the industry. This experience enables you to engage meaningfully with customers about their priorities.
• Sales & Customer Success Expertise: You have a proven track record in creating new business opportunities, engaging in value-based sales conversations, and nurturing lasting relationships with customers. You focus on relationship-building rather than transactional sales, aiming for long-term success and identifying upsell opportunities.
• Territory Management Experience: You have experience managing a large territory with a balanced emphasis on sales and customer success, preferably in agriculture or technology sectors.
• Problem Solving & Collaboration Skills: You are resourceful and quick-thinking, working effectively with cross-functional teams to tackle challenges and implement solutions.
• Willingness to Travel: You are open to frequent travel within your territory to connect with customers and prospects.
• Halter provides an annual USD$750 self-development budget for anything that enhances personal growth.
• Health Benefits: We offer top-tier insurance for our employees, ensuring they can take care of themselves and their families.
• Generous Parental Leave: We offer 16 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers, along with many additional parental benefits that support you and your family.
• Wellness and Paid Leave: We value your time to recharge, providing wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
• 401k Plan: We are proud to offer a 401k plan with employer matching, providing a 100% match on the first 3% you contribute and a 50% match on the next 2%.
• Competitive Remuneration Package: We offer an inclusive and attractive salary, comprehensive benefits, and an employee stock ownership plan.
