This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Oversee a designated territory, fostering profitable premium expansion while meeting sales, financial, and operational objectives.
• Formulate and implement territory and agency strategies aimed at boosting new business, retention rates, and market share.
• Collaborate with underwriters to pinpoint opportunities, assess risks, manage pipelines, and secure favorable business.
• Cultivate relationships with agency owners, leaders, producers, and frontline personnel.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and nurture new agency partnerships.
• Deliver training to agencies on EMC products, underwriting preferences, systems, sales strategies, and business processes.
• Counsel agencies on coverages, underwriting philosophies, premiums, claims, and avenues for growth.
• Spearhead agency business planning, sales strategies, and performance assessments.
• Track agency performance metrics and adjust tactics to enhance growth, profitability, business mix, and submission quality.
• Collect and disseminate market intelligence, competitor insights, and industry trends.
• Represent EMC at agency meetings, industry events, and trade associations.
• Mentor branch team members on agency operations, relationship management, and complex business scenarios.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• A minimum of five years' experience in property and casualty underwriting, claims, sales territory development, agency management, or a related field.
• Preferred insurance designations include CPCU or CIC, or a valid agent license.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the property and casualty insurance sector.
• Advanced understanding of independent agency operations, market dynamics, and competitor insights.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound decision-making capabilities.
• Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in presentations.
• Superior organizational, time management, and planning abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to work independently.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
• Proven leadership qualities.
• Travel is required.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report according to company standards is necessary for driving.
