This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• The main responsibility of this role is to manage accounts and drive sales for our comprehensive range of services.
• Engage in direct sales and business development initiatives that foster business growth and retention, aiming to meet or surpass set sales targets.
• Evaluate potential sales leads to identify which opportunities to pursue.
• Responsible for achieving annual multi-million-dollar sales objectives.
• Identify, create, and execute effective sales strategies.
• Assist in crafting estimates, sales proposals, and presentations.
• Regularly visit assigned accounts to maintain a "strategic relationship" status, promptly identifying necessary changes and opportunities.
• Keep abreast of industry developments and enhance technical knowledge relevant to market demands.
• Support key marketing initiatives that drive sales growth, including road shows, national conferences, trade shows, sales training, and various engagement activities with trade organizations.
• Manage pricing and channel matters as they arise in relation to competitive quotes and cross-selling conflicts.
• Provide support for accounts from sales processes, securing purchase orders, negotiating terms and conditions, and fostering customer relations.
• Conduct job site visits.
• Serve as the primary liaison between sales and production to qualify opportunities.
• Facilitate lunch-and-learn sessions and lead customer discussions.
• Collaborate with the Customer Service team to enhance the customer buying experience.
• Support Shermco training events and trade shows.
• Log sales activities into the CRM system.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred, though relevant experience in a related field may be considered in place of a degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of proven outside B2B sales experience in an engineering context is required.
• Candidates must be local to Austin.
• Demonstrated self-direction and high motivation are essential.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and oral presentation skills, along with a solid understanding of profitability and financial metrics, are necessary.
• Strong sales capabilities, including effective negotiation skills and the ability to engage with key customer decision-makers and influencers, as well as prospecting new customers and forecasting future business.
• Candidates must demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills.
• Overnight travel is required 20% of the time.
• Experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, is essential.
• Basic computer proficiency with software such as Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, random drug tests.
• A pre-employment criminal background check is mandatory.
• A valid driver’s license is required, along with a good driving record that must be maintained.
• Willingness to travel overnight approximately 5 - 10% of the time for customer visits, potential customers, and trade shows.
