This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• The main responsibility of this role is to manage accounts and drive sales for our complete range of services.
• Engage in direct sales and business development initiatives that foster business growth and retention to achieve or surpass designated sales targets.
• Evaluate potential sales opportunities to identify which ones to pursue.
• Responsible for achieving annual multi-million-dollar sales budgets.
• Identify, devise, and execute sales strategies.
• Assist in creating estimates, sales proposals, and sales presentations.
• Regularly visit assigned accounts to maintain a "strategic relationship" status; quickly identify necessary account changes and opportunities.
• Stay informed about industry trends and enhance technical knowledge according to market demands.
• Support key marketing initiatives essential for sales growth, including road shows, national conferences, tradeshows, sales training, and various sales engagement activities such as trade organizations.
• Manage pricing and channel issues as they arise concerning competitive quotes and cross-selling conflicts.
• Assist accounts with sales processes, securing purchase orders, negotiating terms and conditions, and maintaining customer relations.
• Conduct job walks.
• Act as a primary contact between sales and production to qualify opportunities.
• Capable of facilitating lunch and learn sessions and leading customer discussions.
• Collaborate with the Customer Service team to enhance the customer's buying experience.
• Support Shermco training events and trade shows.
• Enter sales activities into the CRM system.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred, but relevant experience in a related field may be considered in place of a degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of successful outside B2B engineering-related sales experience is required.
• Must reside in the Austin area.
• Proven ability to be self-directed and highly motivated.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and oral presentation skills, along with a solid grasp of profitability and other financial metrics.
• Strong sales abilities, which include effective negotiation skills, the capacity to engage with key customer decision-makers and influencers, and the ability to prospect new customers and forecast future business.
• Must demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills.
• Overnight travel is required 20% of the time.
• Experience with CRM systems, specifically Salesforce.
• Basic computer proficiency with software such as Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test as well as periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check.
• A valid driver’s license is required, along with a good driving record that must be maintained.
• Must be willing to travel overnight approximately 5 - 10% of the time to meet customers, prospective customers, and attend trade shows.
