Telecommunications Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create designs for inside-plant telecommunications pathways, spaces, racks, and fiber-optic and copper structured cabling systems.

• Formulate layouts for telecommunications rooms, MDFs, IDFs, and meet-me rooms.

• Independently generate and coordinate drawings, specifications, and construction documents utilizing Revit.

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, architectural, and facility teams to ensure design alignment.

• Assess shop drawings and submittals, address RFIs, and resolve design issues during the construction phase.

• Assist with occasional site inspections throughout the construction process.

• Play a role in the enhancement of CFG's telecommunications design standards, details, and best practices.

• Self-manage telecommunications design packages from preliminary layouts to construction documentation and support.

• Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams and seek experienced technical guidance for intricate challenges and design evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in inside-plant telecommunications design within data centers or similarly intricate technical facilities.

• Generally, 5+ years of experience in telecommunications design.

• Proficient in Revit.

• Capability to independently create, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive telecommunications design packages.

• Extensive knowledge of structured cabling standards, telecommunications spaces, and pathway design.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination abilities.

• Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.

• CFG is not able to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.

• This position is open to applicants residing in states where CFG is authorized to employ.
