Technology Risk and Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Provide governance and oversight for the Incident Management lifecycle.

• Facilitate incident reviews, post-mortem governance activities, remediation tracking, and operational reporting.

• Examine incident trends, recurring issues, and operational risks to uncover opportunities for improvement.

• Enhance operational resilience in collaboration with cross-functional Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.

• Offer governance and oversight for Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Change Management processes.

• Organize Change Advisory Board (CAB) governance activities, including change reviews and risk assessments.

• Generate executive reports, dashboards, scorecards, and operational metrics.

• Assist with audit requests, control reviews, and regulatory engagements by preparing necessary documentation and evidence.

• Serve as the product owner and subject matter expert for governance-related technology platforms.

• Collect requirements and coordinate user feedback effectively.

• Propel workflow automation and enhance governance effectiveness and operational efficiency.

• Maintain procedures, playbooks, and training materials for Incident Management, Post-Mortem, Change Management, and Operational Resilience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Technology Management, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience in Incident Management, Change Management, Production Engineering/Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Engineering Governance, or Technology Risk.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, including proficiency in AI tools.

• Familiarity with data analytics, visualization, and reporting tools such as advanced Microsoft Excel, Python, Power BI, and Tableau.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a focus on agile delivery methodologies.

• Comprehensive understanding of the distinction between coding and engineering.

• Advanced proficiency in oral English.

• Advanced proficiency in Spanish.

• ITIL, Agile, Product Ownership, Risk Management, or related certifications are advantageous.

• Knowledge of cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants is preferred.
