Technology Lead – Networking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design standards, reference architectures, and technology strategy for Arctiq's networking division.

• Create and uphold reference architectures for LAN/WAN, firewall and security-edge, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud networking interconnections.

• Establish and oversee design standards and configuration patterns within managed services customer environments.

• Lead design evaluations for complex or high-stakes customer implementations.

• Develop and sustain a library of standard designs, build guides, and sanctioned technology patterns.

• Set up review and approval processes for non-standard designs and exceptions.

• Manage the networking technology roadmap and assess emerging platforms, vendors, and technology investments.

• Evaluate and pilot new platforms including SD-WAN, SASE, and AI-driven network management.

• Act as a technical decision-maker for networking platform and vendor selections.

• Contribute to business cases for new networking service offerings.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects on complex and strategic pre-sales engagements.

• Review and approve customer solution designs prior to proposals.

• Assist in proof-of-concept and design workshops.

• Represent networking architecture capabilities in customer quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and technology roadmap discussions.

• Create reusable proposal content, architecture diagrams, and technical narratives.

• Drive the adoption of automation frameworks and AI-driven tools for provisioning, configuration management, and performance monitoring.

• Remove manual delivery touchpoints through design-level automation.

• Promote the use of AI-enabled anomaly detection and performance monitoring to minimize downtime and enhance mean time to recovery (MTTR).

• Collaborate with practice technology leadership on automation investments across networking, compute, and security domains.

• Represent the networking practice in the monthly Services Governance Forum.

• Ensure architecture decisions and design patterns are documented, version-controlled, and easily accessible.

• Create training and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Mentor engineers on design thinking, architecture principles, and adherence to standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in networking engineering or architecture.

• A minimum of 3 years in a design-oriented or architectural role.

• Proven experience in designing enterprise networking solutions at scale within multi-site, multi-vendor, hybrid cloud settings.

• A strong background in managed services, professional services, or consulting is highly preferred.

• Experience in mentoring engineers or leading a technical team on standards and design quality.

• Expert-level knowledge in routing and switching, particularly with Cisco and Juniper technologies.

• Expert-level understanding of security-edge technologies such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Check Point.

• Expert-level expertise in SD-WAN, including Meraki, VeloCloud, and Fortinet Secure SD-WAN.

• Expert-level knowledge of wireless technologies, including Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki.

• Proficiency in cloud networking and interconnect architectures, including AWS Transit Gateway and Azure Virtual WAN.

• Familiarity with SASE frameworks such as Zscaler and Prisma Access, or equivalent.

• Experience with SDN architecture.

• Knowledge of AI-driven network management and automation platforms like Cisco Catalyst Center, Aruba Central, and Auvik, or equivalent.

• Experience in network automation using Ansible, Python-based configuration management, or similar tools.

• Strong documentation capabilities, including architecture diagrams, design guides, and decision records.

• CCIE or an equivalent expert-level certification is preferred.

• At minimum, Cisco CCNP Enterprise, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE 7/8 if CCIE is not obtained.

• Cloud networking certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer are advantageous.
