Technology Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Create and deploy a SUSE-based virtualization platform utilizing KVM as the hypervisor.

• Establish standardized VM blueprints (CPU, RAM, storage, network) for both SAP and non-SAP workloads.

• Set up and configure a LINSTOR storage cluster to deliver scalable and redundant block and/or object storage.

• Integrate LINSTOR with the KVM platform to address guest disk volumes and SAP storage requirements.

• Develop guidelines for capacity planning, data protection, and failure management within the software-defined storage layer.

• Implement Software-Defined Networking (SDN) using OpenNebula.

• Define security zones, firewall rules, and routing protocols in alignment with SAP and enterprise standards.

• Create high-level and low-level documentation for various domains (Compute, Storage, Network, Container, Orchestration).

• Integrate new platform components with existing integration points and standard technologies (such as AdminLan, etc.).

• Standardize Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Ansible for configuration management.

• Develop reusable modules/roles to automate host provisioning and configuration processes.

• Facilitate request, change, and incident workflows that initiate automation (Terraform/Ansible) and update the CMDB as necessary.

• Maintain an up-to-date architecture document encompassing all layers: compute, storage, network, automation, observability, and integrations.

• Create operational documentation, including installation guides, runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and “how-to” guides for users (e.g., SAP teams).

• Provide light project and stakeholder management to prioritize features, mitigate risks, and align with business and SAP roadmaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in Virtualization Operations.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.

• Understanding of Network Technologies.

• Knowledge of Data Center Architecture.

• Awareness of Linux Security.

• Strong self-management and time management skills.

• Proficient in Documentation practices.

• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Grafana, and Prometheus is a plus.
