This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee technical supplier activities related to manufacturing and development projects for nuclear instrumentation & control (I&C) systems and electrical components.

• Offer guidance to NuScale design teams on manufacturing practices.

• Define and gather product manufacturing requirements, including all relevant standards and specifications.

• Serve as the main liaison between NuScale design teams and manufacturing suppliers for technical queries and communications.

• Utilize industry knowledge, codes, standards, and regulatory guidance in I&C manufacturing and supply chain development.

• Engage daily with NuScale design teams to understand and communicate their needs to manufacturing entities.

• Contribute to NuScale design teams by leveraging expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.

• Execute subcontract technical lead responsibilities by drafting requirements documents and schedules, and coordinating technical aspects of assigned manufacturing and development projects.

• Examine supplier manufacturing documentation to verify adherence to specifications, codes, standards, and QA/QC requirements.

• Develop, verify, or review internal drawings, studies, and specifications.

• Assess engineering deliverables and initiate necessary corrective actions.

• Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with procedures, applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.

• Oversee supplier manufacturing mockup planning and test outcomes to guarantee achievement of desired results.

• Conduct evaluations of new manufacturing suppliers to assess their capabilities and document findings.

• Facilitate grading of technical proposals and collaborate with the Procurement team for supplier selection.

• Support the Product Cost Management team with cost estimates and value engineering assessments.

• Compile product and process reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing manufacturing information and trends, including statistical analysis of manufacturing patterns.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline from a four-year accredited institution is required.

• An advanced degree is preferred.

• At least 2 years of full-time engineering experience in the development and oversight of manufacturing for I&C systems and electrical components, preferably within the US commercial nuclear sector, is required.

• Experience with manufacturing development for complex designs, components, or systems in a regulated environment is essential.

• Proven project management abilities, along with strong technical writing skills and proficiency in software including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and standard MS Office applications, are required.

• Familiarity with IEEE codes is preferred.

• Knowledge of IPC-A-610/620 standards is preferred.

• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

• Must be willing to travel to local, national, and international suppliers using various transportation methods, with an anticipated travel range of 10%-25%.

• The position will necessitate presence in supplier manufacturing environments and requires an understanding of shop safety protocols and working conditions.
