This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Work collaboratively with clients to collect both business and technical requirements pertaining to healthcare interoperability.
• Create and execute integration solutions based on HL7 FHIR, linking healthcare applications with enterprise platforms.
• Design, configure, and utilize RESTful APIs that support FHIR resources and facilitate healthcare data exchange.
• Set up and integrate FHIR resources such as Patient, Practitioner, Encounter, Observation, Medication, Allergy Intolerance, Condition, Procedure, and Care Plan.
• Develop data mappings between legacy healthcare systems and FHIR resources.
• Create and verify JSON and XML payloads utilized for FHIR messaging.
• Assist in interoperability initiatives that involve EHRs, EMRs, HIEs, payer systems, and third-party healthcare applications.
• Address API integrations, data quality issues, and challenges related to interoperability.
• Engage in solution architecture, conduct technical design reviews, and participate in testing, deployment, and production support.
• Document solution designs, integration specifications, API documentation, and technical procedures thoroughly.
• Offer recommendations on best practices concerning FHIR implementation, healthcare interoperability, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate within cross-functional consulting teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assist clients in enhancing interoperability, modernizing legacy applications, enabling secure real-time patient data exchange, accelerating EHR integration, improving data accessibility and quality, supporting regulatory compliance, and creating scalable solutions based on standards.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in implementing healthcare integration solutions utilizing HL7 FHIR.
• Proficiency in working with RESTful APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with JSON and/or XML data formats.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability concepts and standards.
• Experience in integrating clinical or healthcare information systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in the US with sponsorship.
• Preferred: familiarity with OAuth 2.0 and SMART on FHIR.
• Preferred: experience with HL7 Version 2.x or CDA.
• Preferred: experience with EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, MEDITECH, Allscripts, or others.
• Preferred: experience with middleware tools like Mirth Connect/NextGen Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or similar.
• Preferred: experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Preferred: knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Preferred: experience in Agile software delivery methodologies.
• Technical expertise in HL7 FHIR, REST APIs, JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, OAuth 2.0, API testing, SQL, Git, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
• Consulting skills including requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, business process analysis, solution design and architecture, technical documentation, client presentations and workshops, cross-functional collaboration, issue resolution, and production support.
