Technical Writer – Part-Time Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Operate within a docs-as-code environment to ensure that Prove’s technical and product documentation remains precise as the Solutions and Platform progress.

• Take ownership of Solution documentation in a hands-on capacity while collaborating closely with a supportive team.

• Evaluate and enhance AI-generated documentation for releases, guaranteeing technical accuracy for Solutions.

• Streamline integration guides and tutorials.

• Review AI-generated how-to guides and confirm technical accuracy in collaboration with product owners, engineers, and subject matter experts (SMEs).

• Utilize OpenAPI specifications to enhance content tailored for developers.

• Keep the changelog updated.

• Review and refine AI-generated customer release notes to convey changes, impacted users, and key benefits clearly and accurately.

• Provide support and backup for the lead technical writer, including managing operational processes, addressing stakeholder inquiries, and overseeing office hours across Solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience or a strong interest in technical writing.

• Understanding of REST API request and response payloads, status codes, and error responses.

• Basic knowledge of Git workflows (branching, committing, pull requests).

• Proficiency in Markdown and eagerness to learn about MDX components.

• Attention to detail: consistent terminology, accurate field names, and no fabricated behavior.

• Demonstrated ability to interview engineers and translate their insights into accurate, current documentation.

• Ability to work independently in a part-time, remote, and predominantly asynchronous role.
